The 28 Miss Chinese International Pageant contestants filmed outdoors at the West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade. This year, Norman Chui’s nineteen-year-old daughter #19 Erica Chui is a representative from Vancouver, Canada. Instantly, she became a hot shot for the crown. Moreover, others have claimed that Eric Tsang will take “good care” of her.
Erica did not deliberately inform others that she is the daughter of Norman Chui because this pageant only serves one purpose to her, to learn unattainable knowledge from work and school. Erica is fluent in Cantonese where she attended Chinese language classes when she was young and her family taught her as well.
Participating in Beauty Pageants Step by Step
Allegedly speaking, Eric Tsang will “take care” of her in the competition. She said, “I do not know, but I can handle it myself. I mainly wanted to challenge myself and learn the knowledge outside of books. My parents are supportive of me and told me to keep a peaceful mind. (Advantages?) I never thought of it that way. Here, every girl wants to win. I did not mention anything in particular.” Last year, she met Eric at his filming trip of the “Super Trio” in Canada and he suggested her to join a beauty pageant. Erica said, “He called for me to join the Miss Hong Kong Pageant as I will be able to learn more. However, I wanted to take it step by step so I went for a smaller beauty contest. Luckily, I won the title.”
Small Gifts from Rebecca to All Contestants
Hong Kong representative Rebecca Zhu was not told of Erica’s background in advance. She read the news through reports, but did not confirm it with her in person. However, to take the honor of a host, Rebecca has already prepared them small gift accessories and often provides healthy snacks for them during the rehearsals. Teased of using snacks to win over the contestants, Rebecca explained, “No, they approached and asked me for it. I understand that they are coming from other places, thus they might be acclimatized and have jet lag problems. Hopefully, they can return to their best state for the competition.”

She is quite pretty, but I do think having the connections helped her win the title.
I hope Erica doesnt make top 3. I think there are more rounded/ prettier girls in this years pageant – Toronto, London, Montreal, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, New York, the other Vancouver
i just saw swim wear photo from all the girl today….I must say that Erica’s body figure are the worst and the scariest amongst the girls …. it’s like she try to breath in too hard to make her stomach look smaller but instead it look very unatural and thust it made her body look even worst ……..
She is not pretty. I saw the Miss Vancouver pageant and there were better girls. I honestly think she won because of her connections.
I think Rebecca is very pretty and I hope she helps Hong Kong get the winners crown! It’s been quite a while since Hong Kong has won. I think this year is the best chance for Hong Kong.
I have to disagree. I thought she was the prettiest overall. She has the height, the posture and the figure. Her interview segments were undeniably the best out of all of the contestants that day. A connection may help, but it can only help her to certain limits. Her brother competed in the New Talent Singing Competition a few years back, and he didn’t win any awards even with the connections.
These are beauty competitions, but there are many factors that account for the awards, not just beauty. Erica seems to be one of the most well-rounded contestants, I do believe she’ll end up as one of the top 3.

I like Susan better than Erica, but for whatever reason Susan looks different than I remember her. I don’t know anymore.

Same here! Susan looks very different when she is on stage or filming in videos than when you see her pictures in a function. Sometimes, it makes me think that she is over reacting. But yeah, I am more interested in Susan than Erica.
Thank you Jen for the article but I wish the reporters would write more about the other contestants instead of Erica. If she wasn’t the daughter of actor/actress parents no one would honestly give a rats @$$. She does not have the winner’s look at all.
